by My Name is of No Consequence inwhat if the governing body members bought a ticket or somehow obtained one.
then the unthinkable happens...they won!

I hope A JW win Powerball
by ShirleyW inif so, they probably won't come forward for a while, then when they do, they'll probably be dragged into the back room for a talk about how the dubs don't gamble, then the winner says he'll donate some, and of course all will be forgiven, then the dub may finally see the hypocrisy of the cult and denounce them on national tv as they hold up that big giant check for all to see!

Is the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses really an inferior form of Christianity?
by nicolaou inseems to be quite a few posters recently pulling down the beliefs of jw's as not biblical or truly christian.
maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong, i really don't care.. in some important ways though mainstream christians often behave better than jehovah's witnesses; most don't practice shunning or impose lethal medical prohibitions on their members.
many are far more tolerant of the lgbt community and a few even make the awkward attempt to square the fact of evolution with their faith.. please note that i'm saying some, not all.. so i suppose it's fair to say that differing forms of christianity can be better or worse for individuals, families and the wider community.

Alive I want to reach out to you because I've posted some ambiguous comments about the Witnesses. Sometimes I have trouble articulating and it takes several days to formulate the words for my thoughts. I've always felt there had to be either one true religion or no true religions. There couldn't be two true religions, could there? So with that in mind, who else could it be other than the Witnesses IF there would be a true religion? As Slim referenced the neutrality issue, it seems obvious that one basic prerequisite would be that members of the true religion wouldn't kill members that live in other countries, right? So who else does that leave? Regardless, that doesn't mean I'm going back. I'm just not worried about it. (not that I wasn't before or may not be again). IF Jehovah is real, I'm completely comfortable leaving my fate in his hands. If he wants me dead forever I'm okay with that. I'm sure there is nothing I can do to change his mind! He'll have to live with himself, not me. Of course, that's how I'm feeling lately but that will most likely change (as usual). -

Hi Alive, I don't agree with the Witnesses regarding blood. I understand that blood is viewed as sacred because it symbolizes life, however, I don't agree that the symbol is more important than life itself.
Also, don't agree with the Witnesses regarding shunning. To me the 'Good Samaritan' parable is even more illustrative than the Prodigal Son.

Because it's universality has transcended cultural barriers to such an extent that it's in a class by itself. -

If there were to be a true religion, Jehovah's Witnesses would be it. -

"True Story" - movie about Christian Longo
by OrphanCrow ini just watched "true story" on netflix.. http://www.truestorymovie.com/.
disturbing.
it is about the relationship between christian longo and the journalist, mike finkel, who wrote a book about londo's murder of his family.. a person has to wonder about how dangerous it is to plant the notion of the dead being resurrected into the mind of a narcissist.

Perry, that doesn't make sense to me. If we have no end then we couldn't have had a beginning. -

Perry, if your consciousness goes on forever, what were you thinking about 100 years ago?
